Cang Hai Yan Xiamen

A Harmony of Nature and Culture

The Chinese restaurant in Haicang stands as the pinnacle of high-end dining and unique specialty cuisine in the region. Its design pays homage to the Fujian culture and the coastal lifestyle that defines Haicang. Upon entering, guests are greeted by a captivating waterscape that transports them to the harbor coast through a journey of time and space.

The entrance arch symbolizes the beginning of this journey, marking the start of a timeless story. The earthy red marble on the curved wall, illuminated by carefully positioned lights, evokes the essence of the historic Lotus House of Haicang. The ceiling’s layered design converges towards the centre, reflecting the waterscape’s essence and guiding the eye to the coast’s mirrored beauty.

The design journey begins in the corridor, with the core concept centered around the "Lotus House"—a quintessential example of traditional Fujian architecture, known for its internal courtyards and large traditional residences. This architectural heritage is thoughtfully integrated into the lobby, corridors, and private rooms, blending traditional design elements with modern elegance to create both social and private spaces.

The private rooms are inspired by “Haicang Fragments, Modern Reverie of Dacuo,” merging opulence with the simplicity of Dacuo’s unique elements. Rich wood finishes and dark red marble evoke memories of Dacuo, while soft chandeliers and ceiling designs enhance the dining experience with a play of light and shadow.

This restaurant is part of our work on the complete interior design for Hotel Indigo Xiamen Haicang.
